Tools built for motion designers

Scripts and extensions that remove everyday friction in After Effects, tested on Mac and PC before they ship.

Tools that feel native

Every tool here is built to feel like it belongs in After Effects, not bolted onto it.

That's the bar before a single feature gets built. Where does the panel sit? How many clicks to the thing you actually want? Does it behave the way you'd already expect it to? A tool that adds steps to your workflow isn't a tool, it's another problem.

The goal is that nothing here needs learning. You open it, it makes sense, and after a week it just feels like part of After Effects.

Built and tested properly

Every tool is tested across Windows, Intel Macs and Apple Silicon before release. We support current After Effects versions and several releases back, and we test against each one.

Tools ship with documentation, quick start guides and support from the person who built them. When something breaks, you are not filing a ticket into a void.

Every tool starts as a real problem

Mike, the creator of ToolsForMotion

ToolsForMotion was founded by Mike, a motion designer with almost ten years behind him across freelance work and big tech brands.

Before motion design came web development, Flash and ActionScript, building applications alongside UI and UX designers. That background never really left. Expressions, rigs, automation: anything that turns a daily annoyance into a single click.

Every product started the same way, as a problem on a real project with a real deadline. Nothing here is built speculatively. If it is in the catalogue, it is because I needed it, or a team I was working with did.

Always building

New tools and updates ship regularly. Existing customers get them through the dashboard, alongside their orders and licenses.
